How old do you have to be to get a driver’s license or driver’s permit in various different states?

Every state sets its own rules, so the age you can get a driver’s permit, a driver’s license and a full, unrestricted license varies. Here’s a table showing the requirements as of May, 2011:
Full (Unrestricted) License
16 years, 6 months
15 years, 6 months
16 years, 4 months
District of Columbia
14 years, 6 months
17 years (with perfect driving record for first year – if not, 18)
15 years (16 years less restricted)
15 years, 9 months
14 years, 8 months
17 years (with driver’s education, otherwise 18)
16 years, 6 months (with perfect driving record for first 6 months – if not, 18)
17 years, 6 months with behind-the-wheel driver’s education, 18 without
17 years, 6 months
14 years, 3 months (with driver’s ed, otherwise 14 years, 6 months)
16 years, 3 months
17 years (with perfect driving record for first year, if not, 18)
16 years, 9 months
