I have a trip coming up (visiting several states), and would like to know what kind of weather to expect in each area. Do you have any suggestions for sites to help?

For the best weather, go underground
WeatherUnderground (aka Wunderground), that is. If you’re looking to keep up to date on weather conditions, forecasts, and severe weather alerts, there is no better site out there. All you have to do is type in the city name or zip code for the location you are looking for and you have instant access to current conditions, forecasts, radar maps, any severe weather warnings or alerts, sunrise/sunset info, and much much more. They’ve also got a great mobile site and an iPhone specific site for checking weather on the go from your smartphone.
One of my favorite things about WeatherUnderground is the ability to pick exactly what weather reporting station you want your conditions to come from. This may not sound like a big deal, but depending on where you are in, say, San Diego, the temperature can vary by 10-15F or more, so that can come in handy, especially when traveling in unfamiliar areas. Going to be golfing at Torrey Pines? Click that station. Headed to the Wild Animal Park in Escondido? Probably going to be a bit warmer, so check that station out.
For even better service, you can sign up and get email or text alerts for up to ten cities of your choosing. If you’re not a big fan of paying for things, check out this Wunderground deal from FatWallet.com, and you can get a 1-year subscription for free!
Finally, in case you want to shop around a bit for a forecast, here are four other reputable weather sites:
