While you won’t find anything that quite looks like something you’d see people wearing in the 1920s, there are lots of nice options for swimwear that doesn’t require you to show a lot of skin!
Tankini time
Some of the swimwear we most liked are the modest tankinis from Hapari. Their two piece swimsuits are stylish, cover you up more than most suits, but look really stylish. As a bonus, you can mix and match the tops and the bottoms, so you could create the perfect look for you. (One of the Hapari combos is shown on the right.)
Rashguards & UV protection suits
Another solution is to check out the swim shirts and shorts/pants, such as those sold as rashguards (for surfers) and as sun protection apparel.
Supermodest
If the above doesn’t offer enough coverage for you, there are still other options:
Simply Modest Swimwear offers very modest swimming attire — think capris with dresses — and was created by a woman with strong religious beliefs about how much skin is appropriate to show.
Then on the far extreme of the modesty scale, there’s Bodykini Muslim swimwear, which is “designed to enhance athletic performance while upholding the Koranic principle of modesty by only exposing face, hands and feet.”
